Ingredients

1 aubergine 2 courgettes 2 tomatoes 1 red pepper 1 yellow pepper 1 onion 3 garlic cloves 400 ml tomato sauce 2 tbsp olive oil Fresh thyme, rosemary, salt

The Story

Ratatouille is the traditional vegetable dish of Nice and Provence. Its name comes from the French word "touiller" (to stir). It gained worldwide fame through Pixar's 2007 animated film of the same name.

Instructions

  1. Slice all vegetables into equal-thickness rounds.
  2. Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil; add tomato sauce and pour into a baking dish.
  3. Arrange vegetable slices alternately on top (aubergine, courgette, tomato, pepper).
  4. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle salt and herbs.
  5. Cover with foil, bake at 190°C for 40 min.
  6. Remove foil, bake 15 min more. Serve warm.
